STRING GEL GUIDE

Have you tried String Gel? It’s a useful Pro effects medium to transform paint into uniquely viscous, glossy strands of color with the feel of pouring honey. Just add it to Soft Body, Acrylic Ink or Basics colors to create thick ribbons or fine streams of paint. Or try with mediums.

String Gel also enhances depth of color and transparency, extends your color further without affecting acrylic stability, maintains paint adhesion, durability and archival quality, and dries to a stable, crack-free, 3D wet-look finish. Here's a quick guide.

HOW TO

Always pre-mix your colors in separate containers, stirring gently to mix color in evenly.

Mix with Iridescent Medium, Pouring Medium or other mediums to get different effects – you can also add acrylic-compatible powdered pigments or aggregates to make your own effects.

Then choose your application method. Drizzle it haphazardly from a brush handle, chopstick or pencil; use a squeezy tub or syringe to squirt it with more momentum; fire it off the brush with a forceful flick of the wrist; or try using one of our Pro splatter brushes to propel it forward.

Then drip, pour, swirl, fire away to create glossy, string-like results.

You can paint over with a brush or spray when dry to highlight the 3D texture.
